WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - The Internal Revenue Service has announced the closure of its West Chester office, located at 9075 Centre Point Drive, West Chester, Ohio.
The closure will take effect May 15, 2014.
In this office closure, 23 IRS employees from the West Chester office will be relocated to the John Weld Peck Federal Building at 550 Main Street, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Area taxpayers seeking face-to-face help and information on federal tax matters can visit the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center at the J.W. Peck Federal Building in Cincinnati, which is within 20 miles of the closing West Chester IRS office.
"The IRS made a strategic business decision to close the West Chester office as a cost savings measure," said Jennifer Jenkins, IRS spokesperson for Ohio.
The closure is part of a nationwide cost-cutting measure that will allow the IRS to release more expensive leased space in favor of underutilized vacant space.
