(FOX19) -

The Banks is expanding.

The Banks' Phase IIA will be located on the block bounded by Rosa Parks to Race Street and between Freedom Way and Second Street.

It will have approximately 291 apartments and 20,000 square feet of space for retail. The structure for the apartments will be nine stories tall.

FOX19's Dan Wells is reporting live about the work on Tuesday's FOX19 Morning News.

There are plans for a new hotel next to Great American Ball Park as part of Phase IIA, with more work expected around the area as the entire project moves on.

Construction started last month.

The entire Banks project won't be finished until 2020.
