QUEENSGATE, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati's Drop Inn Center will open its doors to a new Queensgate facility by Fall of 2015.
City Council approved an ordinance on Monday that would allow the center to move into a new location in Queensgate. The new center will be located near the intersection of Dalton and Gest, previously occupied by the Butternut Bread bakery.
The board at the Drop Inn Center has recently deemed the center's current location infeasible to renovate.
Part of a five shelter system, the Drop Inn Center says they chose the new location due to its accessibility for the downtown Cincinnati homeless.
The new center will be nearly double the size and provide permanent housing for up to 350 people during the winter months.
