Plans to bring a new hotel to Pendleton are no longer moving ahead.
FOX19 found out last night that plans for the old SCPA building on Sycamore Street are now moving in the direction of an apartment complex.
Owner of the building and CEO of Core Redevelopment John Watson told the Pendleton Neighborhood Council about the plans last night. Some of the main topics discussed were green space, parking and a time table.
A total of 155 market-rate apartments are set to be built along with another eight units from the building's theater space.
Indianapolis-based Core Redevelopment bought the former school for $1.3 million in November of 2012. Originally, the plan for a hotel at the property picked up steam when Marriott showed interest for its new hotel brand, AC Hotels.
FOX19's Dan Wells is live at the old SCPA with details. Tune in to learn more.
