BLANCHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

Blanchester Police arrested a man Monday night on assault and domestic violence charges after authorities said he attacked another man.

Police said they responded at around 6:30 p.m. Monday to the 700 block of East Center Street where a 20-year-old Cincinnati man had been assaulted.

The man told police when he arrived at the home with a female friend who resides there, Juan Hamilton, 22, attacked him. Hamilton is the former boyfriend of the female friend.

Hamilton fled the scene before police arrived. The Clinton County Sheriff's Office found Hamilton in a wooded area behind the home a short time later.

Police said they had wanted Hamilton since March 7 when he was involved in a domestic dispute with the mother of his child at the same East Center Street residence. In that incident, police said Hamilton reportedly arrived at the residence in hopes of reconciling his relationship with the mother of his child.

When that failed, Hamilton assaulted the woman and he fled. He's been at-large since then.

While investigating the March 7 incident, police found materials set up to cultivate marijuana in the basement of the East Center Street home. Police also discovered a small amount of suspected marijuana.

Hamilton told authorities he is homeless.
