(FOX19) - Actor and Cincinnati native Tyrone Power Jr. would have been 100 on Monday.
To celebrate Power's birthday, the 1941 movie "Blood and Sand" will be shown Thursday at the 20th Century Theater in Oakley. Power starred in the film that won an Academy Award for best cinematography.
Power died in 1958 from a heart attack at the age of 44.
Power's children Romina, Taryn and Tyrone Power III, will attend a special VIP red carpet reception at the theater.
The Oakley theater was the site of "Blood and Sand's" premiere. The showing was the theater's grand opening.
Tickets for the VIP reception are $25. Doors open at 7 p.m. The movie starts at 8 p.m. General admission tickets are $10.
A portion of the proceeds benefits Movie Memories, a nonprofit group that brings classic films to new audiences in American theaters.
