Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center kicked off its live thoroughbred horse racing season on Thursday.

Live racing will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Belterra Park through October 19, 2014, with various special racing dates also available.

National Museum of Racing Hall of Famer, and the youngest jockey to ever win the U.S. Triple Crown - Cincinnati's own, Steve Cauthen – was on hand for the big day in Anderson Township.

Belterra Park's new facilities include 1,500 games as well as Burger Brothers, Favorites, Market Buffet, Nosh and Stadium restaurants.

"We are pleased to announce the first day of an exciting season of racing at the all new Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center," stated Kevin Kaufman, Vice President & General Manager. "With the recent grand opening of our brand new integrated gaming and racing destination, our guests will now be able to enjoy the very best in thoroughbred racing and pari-mutuel wagering along with an incredible overall entertainment experience."

A brief ceremony preceded the racing to commemorate the day. In addition, Belterra Park announced a $50,000 partnership donation to the Anderson Township Veterans Memorial Committee for the development and creation of a new veteran's memorial. Belterra Park will dedicate races to the Ohio Lottery Commission, the Ohio State Racing Commission and military veterans throughout its first day of racing.
