Carriers for the U.S. Postal Service on Saturday will be collecting non-perishable food items.
Residents can leave the items by their mailboxes. Non-perishable items include peanut butter, canned goods, boxed goods such as cereal, pasta and rice.
Carriers will deliver the food to local food banks.
Saturday is the 22nd anniversary of the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. The campaign is in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, Campbell Soup, Feeding America and others.
Last year postal carriers collected 74 million pounds of food.
