FBI: Kidnapping fugitive believed to be in Ohio region

The FBI believes that a man wanted for kidnapping his son and leaving the state of Maryland in 1996 may be in the Ohio region.

Reuben Bennett Blackwell, II is wanted for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in Maryland in 1996 and for kidnapping his then three-year-old son Reuben Bennett Blackwell, III, who may now go by the name "Bennett." Reuben Bennett Blackwell, III is now 18-years-old.

At the time of his disappearance, Blackwell has been described as a black man, about 6'4" tall and weighing around 270 pounds. Officials say he has brown eyes and black hair with gray at his temples. 

Officials say Blackwell threatened to kill his son at the time of the abduction.

Blackwell is wanted for abducting his son in May of 1996 and obstruction of the lawful exercise of parental custody held by the mother.
