NEW YORK (FOX19) - The body of a former University of Cincinnati DAAP student who had been missing since March was found dead Thursday in the New York Bay.
The NYPD Harbor Unit recovered the body of Jay Ott around 11 a.m. near 58th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
According to the New York Times, friends knew something was wrong when the 31-year-old fashion designer didn't show up to work on Monday, March 24.
Ott's family released a statement on Facebook Friday saying, "We just found out today that Jay has died. The police notified us that Jay's body was discovered in the East River. The only thing we know was that foul play was not involved and that he did not jump from the bridge."
The cause of death is unknown at this time. The investigation is ongoing by the NYPD.
