(FOX19) - More than a thousand students received degrees from Northern Kentucky University on Saturday. Graduates were honored in two ceremonies at the Bank of Kentucky Center and another for the 160 law students who earned degrees from Chase College of Law.

"I've known so many great people here, great faculty and staff… It's hard to leave the safety of the school that you've called home for the last four years," said graduate Anthony Leanhart, who received his degree in Anthropology.

Dr. T. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of animal health and nutrition company Alltech, addressed students at the first ceremony in a speech challenging them to remain curious and imaginative. Dr. Lyons was also presented with an honorary doctorate of business.

More than 400 students graduated from the College of Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. It was the last graduating class from the College before the name changes to Mount St. Joseph University on July 1.

Congratulations to all of the graduates across the Tri-State!
