CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

On the heels of "Carol," the Greater Cincinnati Film Commission has landed another major motion picture to be filmed in Cincinnati this summer.

"Miles Ahead," starring Don Cheadle, Ewan McGregor and Zoe Saldana, is a biographical film that explores the life and music of American jazz musician Miles Davis. According to executive director Kristen Erwin Schlotman, it will shoot entirely in the Greater Cincinnati area in the coming months.

"Cincinnati has a lot to offer us and we are very excited to be here," said Pamela Hirsch, producer of the film. "It was a long and thoughtful process to decide where we could film this movie. We landed on Cincinnati because of the attention and total cooperation of the Film Commission, the State's film incentive, the location and the good-will of the people."

Don Cheadle co-wrote the screenplay and will produce, direct and star in the film.

"We look forward to exploring the culture, musicians and backdrop of this city. We are hoping to work closely with the community to bring this project to screen," Cheadle added.

The Greater Cincinnati Film Commission has been scouting locations, introducing local crew, resources and infrastructure.

This is the fifth motion picture to film in the area with the State of Ohio tax incentive established in 2012.
