Job Fatality

Worker dies at southwest Ohio construction site

A worker who was trying to load a piece of heavy equipment onto a flatbed trailer was killed at a construction site near Hamilton. The Butler County coroner identified the victim as 36-year-old Marc Hudson of Bethel. The sheriff's office said Hudson was working alone when the earth mover rolled over on him yesterday afternoon. Firefighters said he was already dead by the time they arrived. Federal investigators said Hudson was a truck driver who had been trying to put the earth mover onto a truck for relocation to another job site. He died at the construction site of a nearly completed church in Butler County's Liberty Township. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said it's too soon to say whether any federal workplace safety rules were violated.
