UNION, Ohio (FOX19) - Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. plans to locate a distribution center in the Dayton, Ohio suburb of Union, the state announced Thursday.
JobsOhio said the project will lead to 800 new jobs being created through third-party customization and logistics providers.
The $89 million, 1 million-square foot facility, will open next year.
"This new distribution center is part of a significant supply chain transformation in North America that will dramatically innovate the way we supply our customers," said Yannis
Skoufalos, P&G's global product supply officer."The Dayton site is ideally situated to both
leverage P&G's scale and our new distribution network to respond to customers and our
consumers in a way we have never done before."
John Minor, JobsOhio's president and chief investment officer, said Ohio competed with several other locations in the United States for the distribution center.
Union is about 70 miles north of Cincinnati.
