The current six cities in the running to host the convention.
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
Cincinnati is already on the short list to host the Republican National Committee's 2016 Convention, and on Thursday the city will find out if it made the even shorter list.
The six cities still in play are Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City and Las Vegas. Reports name Las Vegas as the front-runner due to ample hotels and mass transportation. But Ohio, always a hot swing state in primary elections, isn't being ruled out.
Tampa was the 2012 location and they saw a $400 billion economic boost due to the RNC Convention.
Cities are expected to be narrowed down Thursday afternoon.
