Keeping kids safe at the pool

(FOX19) - Memorial Day weekend is heralded as the unofficial start to Summer, and that means pools will be opening up around the Tri-State. But did you know that the Red Cross reports more than half of Americans can't swim?

Before you hop in the pool, make sure you and your kids are safe.

30 percent of unintentional deaths in children ages one to four are related to drowning, according to the CDC. The YMCA suggests starting kids on swim lessons early and to make sure there's always an adult who knows CPR and basic first aid present.
