Warrants served at Hamilton, Ohio bars in illegal gambling investigation


Police served two search warrants at Hamilton, Ohio bars on Wednesday after investigating complaints of illegal gambling at the bars.

Search warrants were conducted at Jaiden Entertainment LLC., also known as Alibi's, located in the 1000 block of Harmon Ave. A second warrant was served at Diacon Inc., also known as P Dubs Café, located at1103 Dayton Street.

During the search warrant, agents say they seized one electronic gambling device at each location, as well as approximately $880 in U.S. currency from P Dubs and $700 in U.S. currency from Alibis.

Criminal charges are pending and will be presented to the Hamilton Municipal Prosecutor's Office.

Agents say they administratively cited both liquor permits for acquiring, possessing, controlling or operating a gambling device; having an electronic gambling device; operating a gambling house; and recklessly permitting public gaming.

Alibi's was also administratively cited for drug possession.

Once all criminal proceedings are completed, administrative charges will be presented to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission.

The commission has the authority to issue penalties against the liquor permit such as fines, suspension or revocation of the liquor permit.
