DELHI TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Delhi Township Police said Monday they are confident a Greenwell Avenue home was targeted in a late Sunday afternoon home invasion where a family dog was killed. Two suspects remain at-large.

Police said they searched the bedroom of 18-year-old Davin Benkert who lived at the house,  finding money from drug sales, marijuana prepped for distribution and three firearms. Benkert wasn't home at the time of the incident at 453 Greenwell Ave.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. Sunday, two masked suspects (one had a firearm), forced their way into the home's rear basement door. An adult homeowner, her 13-year-old son and a family dog were home. The dog was killed but the homeowner and 13-year--old were not harmed.

Police charged Benkert with drug trafficking (a fifth degree felony) and a possessing weapons under disability (a third degree felony). He was taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.

The case remains under investigation.

Those with information about the case are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040 or Delhi Police at 513-922-0060.
