COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -
The alleged shooter in an apparent murder-suicide wrote a blog post days before the incident where he addressed his children and called his ex-wife a ‘kidnapper'.
"I am your father and you were kidnapped from me ten years ago. You are still kidnapped from me today … The harder I try to be your daddy and be a part of your life, the harder your kidnappers try to keep me out of your life."
Those are a small excerpt of words seemingly written by 41-year-old Zuriel Turk, the man who allegedly killed 62-year-old Mark Kroening on Sunday outside of a Covington Dairy Queen.
Kroening was the stepfather of Turk's children, according to police. The men were meeting for a pre-arranged visit when Turk reportedly turned the gun on Kroening and then himself with the children present.
The online statements, written as a letter to four kids, are posted on Turk's personal Facebook page and a blog that claims to be Turk. The letter is signed as ‘Zuriel Daniel Turk' and was dated May 18, 2014.
In the lengthy letter, Turk calls his ex-wife and Kroening kidnappers who are using the court to keep their children from seeing him and expressed his uncertainty in the future.
"I do not know when I will see you again or even if I will be able to write you again."
Kroening's family released a statement on Monday reading in part: "He loved these children like they were his own. His last act in life was protecting them from harm."
A cross was erected on Monday in the Dairy Queen parking lot where Turk and Kroening died.
