FOX19 Investigates follow-up: Man indicted for alleged food stamp fraud

A federal grand jury has indicted a Cincinnati man for alleged food stamp fraud.

FOX19 Investigates reported earlier about elaborate fraud schemes that involve recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits selling them for cash.

It is a scheme that Over-the-Rhine store owner Moustaphe Toure is accused of participating in.

Toure has been indicted by a federal grand jury on 44 counts of alleged food stamp fraud, with claims that he stole more than $100,000 from the federal program. Investigators say he "bought" food stamp cards for cash and then used the cards to buy goods for his stores, selling the items for a huge profit.

Toure currently remains in jail.
