The son of a local county prosecutor was a victim of an attack that occurred on the outskirts of the Taste of Cincinnati last weekend.

23-year-old Jonathan Deters, the son of Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters, was attacked Sunday night. Deters and Allison Crable, 23, were on 9th street around midnight when they were approached by five to six suspects, according to police. The suspects reportedly hit and knocked them to the ground and punched Crable in the face. The two were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Two men were assaulted later that same night at 1100 Walnut Street. Scottie Hunter, 44, and Randy Ulses, 48, told police suspects stole a wallet, money and credit cards from Hunter and then kicked him in the face. Authorities said they are investigating it as a hate crime.

Of the more than 550,000 people who attended the three-day Taste of Cincinnati, 18 arrests were made on site, according to the Regional Chamber. A statement from the chamber reads in part:

"Those 18 represent .003% of those who attended this year's Taste … Any characterization that Taste of Cincinnati is anything but a safe environment is not based on facts."
