(FOX19) -

A Cincinnati man died on Thursday after making a 30-foot jump into the water at an Indiana park.

It happened at White Rock Park in St. Paul, about 40 miles southeast of Indianapolis. The victim, identified as Ryan Hester, was pronounced dead around 6 p.m. by Indiana State Police divers who recovered his body.

Witnesses said Hester and a friend jumped into the water from the 30-foot platform at the same time. The platform is reportedly intended for jumping, but is meant to be used by one person at a time.

Hester appeared to make an awkward landing in the water, according to witnesses. Police said it could be a factor in his death.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources said they're continuing to investigate the incident. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
