GILBERT, AZ (CBS5) -

A police chase in the East Valley ended early Sunday morning when the suspect lost control of the vehicle and rolled it several times, Gilbert police said.

The driver and passenger in the truck were rushed to a local trauma center, where they were last reported to be in critical condition in the intensive care unit. Their names have not yet been released.

Police began getting numerous 911 calls that a truck was driving recklessly through a neighborhood.

One caller told dispatchers the truck had collided with her car that was parked along the curb in the 4600 block of South Soboba.

The officers spotted the truck and attempted to pull it over, but the driver fled at a high rate of speed, police said.

Officers chased the truck westbound on Arrowhead. The vehicle ran a red light at Higley and attempted to make a left turn but instead the driver apparently lost control and rolled the truck several times, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
