LOS ANGELES (KCBS/KCAL/CNN) - The woman whose audio recording of Donald Sterling led to his lifetime ban from the NBA was attacked in New York City, according to her attorney.

V. Stiviano didn't file a police report, but her lawyer said she may do so Monday.

The lawyer says Stiviano was leaving a restaurant in Manhattan on Sunday when two men physically attacked her and hurled racial slurs.

He says her face is swollen and very red.

Stiviano is now best known for recording a conversation with her then-boyfriend, Sterling, where he chastised her for posting photos of herself with African-Americans, including Magic Johnson.

Sterling's inflammatory remarks spawned outrage among NBA fans, players and executives, leading the basketball commissioner to ban the Clippers owner for life and force him to sell the team.
