FOX19 Investigates: Mahogany's behind in city loan payments

(FOX19) -

Embattled restaurateur Liz Rogers of Mahogany's at the Banks hasn't made a full payment on her $300,000 loan from the city since last October, FOX19 Investigates has learned.

According to loan payment documents FOX19 obtained from the city, Rogers failed to make a loan payment for the last two months. She made three $500 partial payments in January, February and March. She is supposed to pay $3,073.13 monthly on the loan she received in August 2012.

The last full payment was recorded on Oct. 16. There is a principal balance of $283,391.49.

The restaurant has been plagued by late tax payments, loan payments and rent. In February, the FOX19 Investigates Team learned that Mahogany's was behind on its rent by more than $50,000. In April, FOX19 reported the restaurant was current on its rent.

City spokesman Rocky Merz said the city is "actively working with Mahogany's to develop a payment arrangement and we are expecting to reach an agreement soon."

Rogers couldn't be reached.
