GERMANTOWN, TN -

(WMC) - A man accused of killing his wife, wrapping her in an air mattress, and then setting her on fire wants his confession tossed out.

Chris Jones, now with a full beard, was in court Thursday afternoon.

His wife, Heather Palumbo-Jones, who was a teacher, went missing for a week before her body was discovered in the woods of Highway 64 in April 2013.

Germantown police have hours of videotaped interviews with Jones in which he eventually admitted to the murders and led them to the body.

Defense attorneys say the confession was taken improperly and should not be allowed at trial.

The judge says he will take the matter under advisement and issue a ruling on July 10.
