(FOX19) - If you use Facebook chances are you've seen friends post videos of the 'Cold Water Challenge.'
It's a viral trend making the rounds on social media. The idea is when a person is nominated for the Cold Water Challenge then they must face cold water within 24 hours - whether they jump in it, get sprayed with hoses or have water dumped on them.
But it's not just for laughs, it's for a good cause too.
Challengers are asked to donate money to charity after their participation. On Wednesday, a local police officer stepped up to the plate to raise money for Susan G. Komen.
Sergeant Brian Berigan of Wyoming was pelted with water balloons as a part of his Cold Water Challenge. Berigan sold each balloon and donated the profits to Komen in memory of his mother-in-law who lost the battle with breast cancer nine years ago.
Once it was all said and done, Berigan then nominated another person to take the challenge… FOX19's very own Meteorologist Frank Marzullo.
Will Frank accept? He has 24 hours! Catch his response tomorrow on the FOX19 Morning News.
