MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - It is one of the most iconic and legendary guitars of all time. A true icon of the blues. B.B. King named his guitar "Lucille" in 1949.

Now, Gibson Guitar is making a 65th anniversary B.B. King signature Lucille guitar.

"Lucille" got its name after B.B. King played in a nightclub that caught fire in Twist, Ark.

"The building is a wooden building and it started burning rapidly," he said. "It started to fall in around me. I almost lost my life trying to save my guitar."

B.B. King managed to save his guitar and vowed never to let it out of his sight. The next day, he discovered the fire began with a fight over a woman.

"I never did meet her, but I learned that her name was Lucille," he explained. "I named my guitar Lucille to remind me never to do a thing like that again."

Gibson Guitar announced the signature Lucille guitar can be purchased for $3,799.
