Deadly SE Memphis shooting stemmed from fight

MEMPHIS, TN -

(WMC) - Police found a man dead after a shooting in southeast Memphis on Friday night.

On Friday night, officers responded to a shots fired call at 3310 Knight Trails Circle in the Cinnamon Trails Apartments. Upon arrival, officers noticed the front door of the apartment ajar, seemingly kicked in by force.

After entering the home, officers found 39-year-old Derek Adams lying on the floor with a gunshot wound. Rescue crews arrived at pronounced Adams dead.

This is the second confirmed shooting from Memphis police Friday evening. The second, unrelated shooting happened at South Third Street and Shelby Drive in southwest Memphis.

A 65 year old was shot and sent to the Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition around 8 p.m.
