BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19) - The Boone County Animal Shelter is implementing life-saving programs to drastically improve its animal save rate by joining the "Just One Day" movement.

Across the country, more than 700 shelters and rescue groups have pledged to not euthanize any healthy and adoptable animals. Instead, they will post pictures and focus on marketing the animals.

In addition, they will waive adoption fees from Wednesday through Saturday on all spayed and neutered animals with approved applications.

"To most people, June 11 is Just One Day. But, June 11 is a day that could change everything for 10,411 companion animals, and a day that can change the world. On June 11, 2012, we could be
a No Kill nation," the Just One Day website reads.

The Boone County Animal Shelter is open noon to 5:45 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday. It's located at 5643 Idlewild Road in Burlington, Ky.
