SOUTH FAIRMONT, OH (FOX19) -

Two children remain hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night while riding their bicycles on the sidewalk in South Fairmount.

Authorities said 36-year-old Crystal Weldy was driving inbound at about 3:45 p.m. on Westwood Avenue when she jumped a curb and hit the children. There was a 7-year-old child in the car with Weldy at the time, officers said.

The boys that were hit, ages 9 and 11, were not wearing helmets.

Both children were taken to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center where they were listed in serious but stable condition. Authorities said the 9-year-old suffered a fractured skull and broken leg. The 11-year-old's injuries were not immediately available.

Cincinnati police said it is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash. Lt. Lisa Davis said Weldy was taken to police headquarters for a sobriety testing. Those results have not yet been released.

The Cincinnati Traffic Unit said they are continuing to investigate the crash.
