COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Most students have been out of school for a couple weeks, but for some who had to make up several snow days after a treacherous winter, Friday is their last day.
That's the case for Northwest Local School District.
Students were supposed to begin summer break on Wednesday. Instead, the district went two extra days with exams on Friday.
Ohio Governor John Kasich signed legislation in March to provide schools with some relief from the long winter with additional calamity days. The district also implemented "blizzard bags" and had students do makeup work at home during snow days.
The 2014-2015 school year begins August 26.
