Victim identified in Goshen Twp. motorcycle crash

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

A motorcyclist was killed and another person hospitalized in a crash that shut down State Route 28 on Sunday.

Police said the victim, 59-year-old John Bennett, was riding in a group around 3 p.m. when the accident happened.

Bennett was attempting to pass a vehicle when he collided with a Chevrolet Impala as it was making a left turn onto Linton Road, according to authorities. He was ejected from the motorcycle and both vehicles crashed into an embankment. 

Police said Bennett was not wearing a helmet and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Impala was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities.

The Ohio State Patrol's Batavia post is investigating the accident.
