Butler Co. home invasion leads to discovery of pot operation

ROSS TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police responded to a home invasion on Thursday that led to the discovery of a marijuana growing operation inside a Ross Township home.

Multiple suspects entered the Millville-Shandon Road home of Howard Fisher, 87, Thursday around 12:50 a.m., according to police.

Fisher was reportedly held at gunpoint while the suspects stole items that belonged to his grandson, Christopher Fisher. Christopher was not home at the time of the invasion.

Fisher suffered an injury to his hand when he was struck by one of the suspects. He escaped the home and went to his neighbor's house and called 911.

Responding officers conducted a sweep of Fisher's home and uncovered a marijuana grow operation in the basement, according to police. Growing equipment and pot plants in various stages of growth were seized.

Police said there are no suspects at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
