TIGARD, OR (KPTV) -

A hot air balloon had to make an emergency landing in a Tigard neighborhood Sunday morning.

Neighbors on Elise Court said they saw the balloon hovering over their cul-de-sac around 7 a.m. before it came down in the middle of the street.

"He kind of bounced a little bit, and we thought he was going to land on a neighbor's car, but his crew grabbed ahold of the lead and pulled him gently down, nice and softly," said Suzanne Wurster.

The balloon was part of the Festival of Balloons at Cook Park, which is about a mile away from the cul-de-sac.

It's not clear why the balloon had to make the sudden landing.
