(FOX19) -

A northern Kentucky man pled guilty on Monday before a U.S. District Judge for distributing heroin that resulted in the death of his customer.

Timothy Tingle-Brown, 29, faces a minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life after he sold heroin to a man at a Taylor Mill apartment in April 2013. That man subsequently died from an overdose from the heroin that Tingle-Brown sold him.

A federal grand jury charged Tingle-Brown in September for distribution of heroin resulting in death. A trial started on Friday and a jury was selected, but Tingle-Brown entered the guilty plea Monday morning before the trial was set to continue.

"Tingle-Brown faces at least 20 years in prison because he chose to sell heroin, a decision with deadly consequences in this case. Other who are tempted to engage in the destructive behavior should take heed of the price to be paid," U.S. Attorney Kerry B. Harvey said.

Tingle-Brown also faces $1,000,000 fine.
