NORTHSIDE, OH (FOX19) - Northside is breaking ground on a new mixed-used development project Tuesday.
The development, call Gantry, is a $13 million project that will consist of 130 apartments as well as restaurant and retail space.
Gantry, built by Milhaus developers, will be located at the former site of Myron Johnson lumberyard. According to Milhaus, the name highlights that past since a gantry is a crane used in lumber companies and shipyards.
In keeping with the Northside community, Milhaus has promised residents that they will lease the retail space to locally-owned, non-chain businesses.
The new development will run along Hamilton Avenue at Langland Street. The existing historic building at the end of Langland will also be renovated as part of the project to be used as commercial space.
