NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

The EPA and the Hamilton County Hazardous Material team are both investigating Tuesday after a nitrogen oxide leak was reported at the Shepherd Chemical Company in Norwood.

It was reported at about 10:45 a.m. at the facility, located in the 2800 block of Highland Avenue. Norwood police said the leak came from a stack and was immediately shut off by officials.

As a result, the Norwood Fire Department ordered a "shelter in place" precaution for residences and businesses within a 500 feet perimeter around the area. No injuries have been reported.

By 1:30 p.m., the shelter in place order had been lifted.
