One of the lawyers involved in the Hamilton County prosecutor sex scandal says everyone involved will soon meet with a mediator. It's a major step for a case that has taxpayers fearing they'll have to pay for both Mike Allen and his former lover Rebecca Collins' legal expenses. Collins' attorney, Randolph Freking, says he, the Hamilton County attorneys, and Allen's attorneys will work to reach a settlement. Until now Hamilton County was the lone hold-out. Freking did not share the time and place of the mediation meeting.
Meantime, both 700 WLW's Bill Cunningham and the editorial staff at the Cincinnati Enquirer are calling for Allen to step down immediately. According to a prosecutor's office spokesperson that is not scheduled to happen before his term is up six weeks from now.
