NEW ORLEANS (RNN) - A graphic YouTube video shows when gunfire erupted on Bourbon Street early Sunday morning. At least nine people were shot.

New Orleans police confirmed two victims are in critical condition, six are stable and one was released from the hospital, according to WVUE.

Some of the victims were tourists, according the Associated Press. Their names have yet to be released.

During a news conference on Sunday, Police Superintendent Ronald Serpas said two men were trying to settle a dispute between themselves without care for anyone else.

"Our number one priority is to keep New Orleans safe," Mayor Mitch Landrieu said in a statement. "These kinds of incidents will not go unanswered . I am confident that between video evidence and eyewitness accounts, we will bring the perpetrators to justice."

Victims were taken to a nearby hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
