CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A fire Wednesday afternoon at Great American Ballpark caused $25,000 in damages to a concession area.
Cincinnati Reds Administrative Staff called authorities around 1:15 after witnessing the fire from their offices, according to police. It happened at the United Dairy Farmers on the View Level of the stadium, which is located in the upper bowl.
Damage to the concession area's facade was visible from the street level and police estimate it to be worth $25,000. 32 firefighters responded and there were no injuries.
Officials say the cause is under investigation, but was possibly caused by a malfunctioning motor on a piece of equipment sitting outside of the UDF.
The Cincinnati Reds play the San Diego Padres Wednesday and will return to the ball park on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers.
