CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - On the heels of the movie "Carol" being shot around the Tri-State, it's round two for movie magic starting Monday.
The Miles Davis bio-pic will star Don Cheadle and Ewan McGregor and will be shot entirely in Cincinnati. The Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Film Commission says it's at least the fifth time Cincinnati will be used to portray New York City in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
Production offices opened in mid-May, with jazz musicians, crew workers and extras being scouted then. Movie crews will shoot in 25 different locations around town through August 15th.
On Monday morning, film crews were preparing to film along 7th Street downtown with prop vehicles.
This will be the fifth motion picture to shoot in the area using Ohio filmmakers' tax incentives.
Don Cheadle is using crowdfunding to help raise money for the film. So far the film has raised $231,541 of the $325,000 goal. The campaign on INDIEGOGO ends July 10.
