CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Drivers who use Interstate 75 for the early morning commute will hit a roadblock tonight.
The southbound lanes of I-75 will be closed between the Norwood Lateral and Mitchell Avenue interchanges to allow for work to replace a railroad bridge overpass. The ramp from westbound Norwood Lateral will also be closed.
Crews are expected to shut down the road at 11 p.m. on Thursday, July 10 and Friday, July 11 and reopen it by 5 a.m. the next morning.
The suggested detour is west on I-275, east on I-74 to I-75.
The work is part of the $664 million Mill Creek Expressway Improvement Project that is intended to improve safety and traffic flow from the Western Hills Viaduct to the Paddock Road interchange.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation it is a 9-phase project that started in 2010 and is not slated for completion until 2020.
