His determination and tie-dye shirt earned him a few television and media interviews.
When the store opened its doors at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Boyer was the
first to enter, and he bought 2 grams of Sour Kush for $50. He emerged from the store and shouted "Go Washington" to a cheering
crowd before heading home and smoking with friends.
As it turns out, all the attention backfired. Boyer, who works as a guard with Kodiak Security Services, got a call from his boss saying he would be required to take a drug test -- a test he will obviously fail.
His employer said a client saw Boyer
on television, and he would likely be fired as a consequence.
Regardless, capturing the title of first buyer of legal pot in Spokane was worth it.
It reads in part: "I lost my job due to the news coverage of me being the
FIRST PERSON TO BUY MARIJUANA LEGALLY IN SPOKANE! I regret nothing. But now im
jobless and have decided to post my resume here. Thanks for reviewing it."
Married at first sight? Strangers say ‘I do'
This is an "I do" you won't believe they did.
"Married at First Sight" is a new reality show that premiered this week on the FYI channel (formerly BIO). It follows three couples who get legally married the moment
It's an extreme social experiment that has a sexologist, psychologist, sociologist and spiritual
adviser play cupid to do some "scientific matchmaking."
The spouses know nothing about each other, even their names, until
they walk down the aisle in the premiere. The next nine episodes follow
the newlyweds as they live together for four weeks.
Those who wish to get unhitched can have their divorce financed by the show within six months.
"Crazy" and "insane" are just a couple words being thrown around to describe the show on social media. However one woman tweeted, "Married at First Sight' http://aol.it/1k5hVgp < Why not? I didn't choose right man the traditional way. #YOLO"
Dad's Disney World surprise goes horribly wrong
If you decide you're going to take your children to Disney World, you probably have the whole thing built up in your mind. You're probably very excited to break the news to little Johnny and Susy.
Sometimes those reactions are magic. And sometimes, not so much.
A YouTube user posted a video last week of his kids' finding out they're going to Disney World.
He writes, "My wife and I decided to completely surprise our kids with a trip to
Disney World. We packed up the car, then woke the kids up and put them
in the car. The video explains the rest..."
