Rubber duck regatta helps those in need


CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Approximately 200,000 little rubber ducks will be dropped into the Ohio River for the ultimate duck race at the 20th annual Freestore Foodbank Rubber Duck Regatta.

The 2014 Rubber Duck Regatta is Sunday, August 31 at Sawyer Point coinciding with P&G Riverfest.

All of the proceeds from the duck purchases go directly to providing meals for hungry children in the community

The first place prize winner will receive a 2014 Honda Accord Sport and possibly  $1 million if their duck is the "Million Dollar Duck."

Second place prize will receive $100 in Kroger gift cards per week, for an entire year ($5,200 total)

Five additional winners will be awarded $500 cash from Kemba Credit Union.

The Rubber Duck Regatta raises nearly $800,000 each year to help children and families in need.

Duck season begins on Monday from 5 till 7 p.m. at Washington Park where you can buy the first ducks of the season.
