Hot air balloons take to the skies this weekend in Middletown, as the Ohio Challenge returns for another year of hot air, food, and live entertainment.
There is a full festival on the ground each evening, but in the air, balloon pilots will be competing, offering tethered rides, and full balloon rides are also open to the public.
On Friday and Saturday night, a balloon glow will light up Smith Park at 9:15 PM, followed by a laser-pyro musical on Friday and fireworks on Saturday.
Beyond the balloons, helicopter rides, bi-plane rides, and tandem skydives will be available to festival goers.
Of course, all sky activity is weather permitting.
The festival runs from 4-10:30 PM Friday, 7-11 AM Saturday, after a short break it reopens from 4-10:30 PM Saturday, and wraps up on Sunday from 7-11 AM.
Admission to the park is free during the morning hours, but at night it is $4 for adults or $10 per vehicle.
