Green Township residents will soon have more options when dining out.

Crews are set to break ground next week on an entertainment district called Harrison Greene.

Entertainment district's are defined geographical areas that include a combination of hotels, retail shops, sports facilities, restaurants, museums and night clubs and other attractions.

Harrison Greene will be situated on a 140-acre plot of land on Harrison Avenue from Westwood Northern Boulevard to Lee Court.

Adam Goetzman, director of planning and development for Green Township, said establishing the entertainment district will streamline the liquor permit process for restaurants and establishments looking to move into the area.

Entertainment districts allow the state to issue liquor permits within the district that do not count against the municipality's number of allowed permits.

"We can actually regulate what goes on within the district," said Tony Rosiello, Chairman for the Green Township Board of Trustees. "We will be very mindful of the property owners around us. I don't foresee any issues at all."

A spokesperson for the Ohio Division of Liquor Control, said the number of permits for Harrison Green would be capped at 15 and they would not be able to be transferred outside the district.

Township officials say Graeter's, Dewey's, First Watch and Tom+Chee are among the establishments planned for the development.
