(FOX19) -

Just days before the start of training camp, the Bengals have signed defensive tackle LaKendrick Ross.

Ross, who recently entered the NFL's supplemental draft, comes to Cincinnati as an undrafted free agent and will be in the competition for the team's fifth defensive tackle spot to be decided at the end of camp.

Ross played one year of college football at Virginia-Lynchburg and finished with five tackles for loss and four sacks.

The Bengals also placed nine players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list because they are not medically cleared.  The list includes Geno Atkins, Kevin Huber, Clint Boling and Devon Still.  Those players can immediately participate in practice once medically cleared.

The Bengals open training camp Thursday July 24 at Paul Brown Stadium.
