BOONE CO., KY (FOX19) - A special prosecutor will be brought in to review the death of Samantha Ramsey, the 19-year-old who was shot and killed by a Boone County Deputy.
Commonwealth Attorney Jim Crawford will review the incident and determine if Deputy Tyler Brockman should face charges or if a grand jury needs to hear the case, according to officials.
Brockman shot Ramsey through her windshield as she was driving away from a field party in April. Brockman claimed Ramsey ignored his order to stop and then struck him with her vehicle.
At least one of Ramsey's passengers said Brockman jumped onto the hood of the car.
