CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Hundreds showed up Wednesday night to voice their thoughts on a proposed tax levy to save Union Terminal and Musical Hall.

The forum, held at the Sharonville Convention Center, discussed the "Icon Levy," a tax that would raise an estimated $330 million to help save the landmark Cincinnati buildings.

Supporters of the Icon Levy were bussed to the meeting from Union Terminal and made up most of the crowd.

The .25 percent sales tax would help cover an estimated $331 million project to make repairs to two of Cincinnati's most notable buildings.

Music Hall would get new windows, which had previously been bricked over, as well as improved acoustics and seating, a new stage and updates to electrical, air conditioning and heating systems.

Union Terminal requires work that would not be as visual, including roof work and other structural upgrades.

Hamilton County Commissioners will decide by August 6 if the proposed sales tax will be put on the November ballot.
